New data by Father Melvin

There are still a good number of people who write to me to have their relatives and friends written in the Book of Remembrance. I offer three Masses a week for all those written in that book. I also pray my rosary for them every day. To write a name in the book costs $15.00 each and that person will remain in the book for a full year. Anyone can do so by writing to me.

PS We had another sunny day but it was cloudy at times. We are supposed to have rain during the night. The farmers will be happy if it rains as the fields are very dry. May the Lord keep you all close to Him.

The Betrayal and Arrest of Jesus

A reading from the Gospel of Saint Matthew 26, 47 – 56:

While he was still speaking, Judas, one of the Twelve, arrived, accompanied by a large crowd, with swords and clubs, who had come from the chief priests and the elders of the people. His betrayer had arranged a sign with them, saying, “The man I shall kiss is the one; arrest him.” Immediately he went over to Jesus and said, “Hail, Rabbi!” and he kissed him. Jesus answered him, “Friend, do what you have come for.” Then stepping forward they laid hands on Jesus and arrested him. And behold, one of those who accompanied Jesus put his hand to his sword, drew it, and struck the high priest's servant, cutting off his ear. Then Jesus said to him, “Put your sword back into its sheath, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword. Do you think that I cannot call upon my Father and he will not provide me at this moment with more than twelve legions of angels? But then how would the scriptures be fulfilled which say, that it must come to pass in this way?” At that hour Jesus said to the crowds, “Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs to seize me? Day after day I sat teaching in the temple area, yet you did not arrest me. But all this has come to pass that the writings of the prophets may be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.

Below you will find the message of Our Lord and Savior given to Father Melvin. Jesus spoke to him these words,

“I bless you My brother Melvin and all My brothers and sisters who live in union with Me. It was on Holy Thursday during the night that Judas led the soldiers and the people to the Garden of Olives and he came to Me and greeted Me with these words, “Hail, Rabbi.” Then he kissed me. That was the sign for the soldiers to arrest Me. St. Peter took his sword out and struck the servant of the high priest and cut off his ear. I told him to put back his sword into its sheath and I picked up the ear and placed it in its place and healed it. Then I spoke to the crowds that had gathered where I was arrested and spoke to them. I told them that they look like a group that has come to arrest a robber. However, they had come and arrested Me so that the scriptures may be fulfilled. It was written that the Messiah would be arrested, beaten and nailed to the cross and die. This was My sacrifice in order to save the people so they could go to heaven and be with Me forever. After My arrest all the Apostles left Me except for Peter who followed Me during the night and St. John brought My Mother and She saw Me carrying the cross and She stood at the foot of the cross in great suffering while I hung there until death. I bless you all”
